Meet the Team

Shane and Theo have worked together for over two and half years and have become very good friends. They are a motivated, enthusiastic, positive pair and while the challenge they have taken on will test their mental and physical stamina, their dogged determination, will to succeed and physical prowess will see them to the finish line.

Shane Chadwick - Originally from Perth, Australia, Shane will be 34 years old when he takes part in this expedition. Having rowed at a competitive level at school he has garnered a reputation since for never wavering focus – when he has a goal in mind, no man or beast will stop him from achieving it. After finishing a plumbing apprenticeship he lived in London for four years until he transfered to the super yacht industry as a second engineer - a high tempo environment suited only to the most determined, tenacious of workers. He has since climbed the ladder at a healthy pace, accomplishing his Y4 engineering examinations and currently studying for his Y3. To take on the Atlantic Ocean will be a huge challenge for him but his dedication and training are focused and there is no doubt that he will tick this expedition from his bucket list early in 2016.

Theo Jones – Originally from Winchester, Hampshire, Theo will be 27 years old when he sets off on what he hopes will be the adventure of a lifetime. Having grown up in a large family of high sporting achievers, Theo himself set records in long distance running, eventually representing Dorset at the National Cross Country Championships, as well as thriving in team sport and playing in his school’s 1st XV for 3 years. After leaving school Theo gained a Yachtmaster Offshore and has worked on super yachts for the last 5 years. By the time he is sitting on the start line with 2600nm of ocean ahead of him, he will have acquired his Officer of the Watch Chief Mate qualification.
